High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, have set a minimum target of 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The target was announced on Saturday in Osogbo during the inauguration of the state and local government structures of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a political mobilisation group campaigning for Tinubu’s re-election.

Tompolo, the movement’s Grand Patron, also donated 30 vehicles and other campaign materials to support its mobilisation activities across the state.

The group is targeting between 1.5 million and two million votes for Tinubu in Osun ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election.

Osun has 2,339,233 registered voters, while 1,906,390 have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), according to figures presented at the event.

Speaking through the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Chief Kestin Pondi, Tompolo urged residents to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition, describing the President as a fellow Yoruba man whose leadership deserves continued backing.

He called on the people of Osun to give Tinubu at least 90 per cent of the votes cast in the state.

Tompolo also defended the President’s economic reforms, arguing that they had improved the financial position of state governments and enabled them to meet obligations such as salaries and pensions while executing development projects.

He said: “We are in Osun State canvassing for votes for a man who has done so well for the South-West because we believe in the man. We believe in the man’s reformation agenda, and we believe that the man is what Nigeria needs at this point”.

Highlighting what he described as improvements under Tinubu’s administration, Tompolo said fuel queues had disappeared and Nigeria’s economy had become more stable.

He added that the President’s reforms had helped restore investor confidence and increased the resources available to state governments.

“Today, your governor has money to execute projects because President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was bold enough to start his reforms. Today, salaries are paid on time because the man was bold enough to start his reforms,” he said.

Tompolo maintained that Tinubu should be given another term to continue implementing his policies and moving the country forward.

Representing Governor Adeleke at the event, Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi said political groups across party lines in Osun had come together to support the President’s re-election.

He described the gathering as evidence of a broader political coalition, noting that the mobilisation effort was focused on the presidential election.

Adeleke, in his address, commended Tompolo for establishing the movement and supporting Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

“Our unity of purpose and determination to join hands for the re-election of Mr. President is manifested today by this assembly of supporters across party lines. We all gathered here solely to promote and market Mr. President for continuity,” he said.

The governor also urged members of the coalition to put aside previous political disagreements and work towards securing between 1.5 million and two million votes for Tinubu.

He stressed that the partnership was primarily for the presidential election.

Oyetola, who was represented by the APC governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun election, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, said support for Tinubu’s second-term bid was growing beyond the traditional membership of the ruling party.

The minister said the coalition had a responsibility to translate its political support into votes at polling units across the South-West.

He described continuity in Tinubu’s administration as important for sustaining the reforms and development programmes introduced by the Federal Government.

Obidients To Move Beyond Social Media – National Coordinator

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, urged Osun residents to support Tinubu in the January 2027 election.

Asuku argued that the President had earned another term through the difficult decisions taken by his administration, particularly its economic reforms.

He also claimed that state governments were now better positioned to meet their financial obligations, including pension payments.

“There are about 2 million voters in Osun, with no less than 1.9 million votes up for grabs in Osun State. The votes should be in the bag for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, Asuku said.

The mobilisation exercise is part of efforts by Tinubu’s supporters to build a broader political coalition in Osun ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
