THEME: GOD IS STILL AWARE By Richard Charles Ofou  (Charles Lwanga Jnr).

A REFLECTION ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF OCTOBER, 2026

Bible Texts: Psalm 139: 1–4; Matthew 10: 29–31; Isaiah 43:2; Romans 8:28

(NLT) _And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them._ Romans 8:28

My dear brethren in Christ, peace be with you. Today, God through the voice of the Church, reminds us that He is still aware of our existence, aware of our struggles, our high and low, our fears, strength and weakness.

Sometimes in life, we go through situations that make us ask, “God, do You still know what I am passing through?” We pray, but the answer seems delayed. We cry, but the situation does not change immediately. We work hard, but things still look difficult. At such moments, it can feel as if God is silent or far away. But the truth is that God is still aware. God has not forgotten you. He knows what you are going through, He sees what people cannot see, and He understands what you cannot even explain with words.

One of the difficult things about faith is that sometimes God does not answer when we expect Him to answer. We pray today and expect an answer tomorrow, but the answer seems delayed. However, a delay does not mean that God has abandoned you. Consider Lazarus in John 11. Jesus knew that Lazarus was sick, yet He did not immediately go to him. Eventually, Lazarus died. To the people around him, it may have looked as though Jesus had failed. But Jesus had not lost control of the situation. Jesus eventually came and raised Lazarus from the dead. This teaches us something important: God can still be working even when we cannot see what He is doing (Isaiah 55:8–9).

God knows our needs before we even tell Him (Matthew 6:31–32,). This does not mean that we will never experience difficulties. It means that difficulties do not mean God has stopped caring for us. Sometimes we ask, “Where will help come from?” But Psalm 121: 1–2 says, “My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Your present situation is not proo that He has forgotten you. Keep trusting Him and keep doing what is right.

Christianity does not mean that we will have no problems. It means that we do not face our problems alone. There may be times when you pass through financial difficulties, disappointment, rejection, failure, or uncertainty. But remember: God is still aware. Though the fire may be hot, but God is still present. The road may be difficult, but God has not lost sight of you.

Romans 8:28 teaches us that God is not only aware of our situation but causes those situations to eventually turn out good. This does not mean that everything that happens to us is good. Some experiences are painful. Some disappointments are real. Some losses hurt deeply. But God can take even difficult situations and work through them for His name’s sake. Joseph experienced betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment, but eventually God lifted him into a position where he could save many lives. What looked like the end of Joseph’s story was not the end. Your current chapter is not necessarily the final chapter.

My dear brethren in Christ, there may be seasons when you do not understand what God is doing. There may be prayers you have been waiting for. There may be situations that seem completely out of your control.

But remember this simple truth:

God is still aware.

He sees you when people do not see you. He knows your struggles when nobody understands them. He hears your prayers even when the answer seems delayed. Therefore, do not give up because of what you are facing today. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep working. Keep doing what is right.

May the Peace and Love of God that surpasses all things rest and abide in our hearts. Amen.
