JUSTICIA on The Southerner

Let me start by confessing that I don’t like prophesies. Not so much because I hate prophets of the ancient world, many of whom are still venerated today, but because prophesying is an art, dressed up as a mysterious insight into future events that will happen. But trained minds know that such events might happen even if they don’t climb the mountain top or the pulpits to proclaim the certainty of the events happening.
What passes off today as prophesy is more like analyzing events and phenomena by predicting what the outcome might be based on certain variables. So rather than saying I prophesy, I’d like to say, I am, today, predicting two major events that might happen in the nearest future , perhaps, ten years from now.
And my predictions will have grave consequences for human history, if the United States does not restrain the pugnacious leaders of Israel from the ruinous path of waging genocidal wars against their perceived enemies.
The Israeli war against the Palestinians and her neighbours is unwinnable and the ambition of the Zionist elements driving the Eretz Israel dream ought to know that theirs, like Apartheid in South Africa, is a pipe dream that might ultimately lead to the destruction of Israel. Israel will fall and her fall will be caused by the Israeli, if her leaders are not restrained from the then disastrous path they have chosen.

The signs are clear. Israel has returned to the wilderness, this time, without a Moses. And it has become clearer too that God is not, that is if the Almighty ever was on the side of one of His many creations against others. The State of Israel once celebrated as a model of innovation, ingenuity, courage and scientific achievements, and which has the empathy of much of the globe because of the Nazi holocaust, appears to have lost its humanity and a moral compass.
Even international organizations like Amnesty International now describe Israel as an Apartheid State. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his pugnacious generals have been declared war criminals and wanted by the International Criminal Court for prosecution for war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity. The Israeli State with a thriving democracy, a multi-cultural and multi-religious population, which built the Kibbutz and grew all types of crops in the desert, parading the best scientists, inventors, agronomists etc to the envy of their Arab neighbours has now become a genocidal state with a trail of massacres of women and children in Gaza, the total destruction of the Palestinian enclave and an unrestrained invasion of its neighbours.
Every day since October last year when Hamas, perhaps, the only resistant group in Palestinian occupied territories broke through the wall of their vast prison called the Gaza strip and unleashed terror on innocent Israeli civilians and kidnapping revelers, an act which drew global opprobrium, Netanyahu and right wing supporters acting allegedly in self defence, have slaughtered more than 50,000 Palestinians in a disproportionate onslaught unimaginable, destroying the entire territory of two million population, subjecting ordinary Palestinians including women and children to untold hardship through the collective punishment and targeted assassination of professionals like doctors, Aid workers and journalists.
In most cases, a whole family are targeted and wiped out. All attempts at a ceasefire between the Israeli Troops and Hamas fighters are routinely violated by both sides. The Israeli with the support of US and Western powers have continued to dig in using hunger as a weapon of choice, and provoking international outrage. With leaders in the mold of Hitler and Botha, the Israelis have defied every UN resolution and calls by the international community, including appeals by the Vatican, for a ceasefire and granting of access to humanitarian relief.
While there is no end in sight in the war with Hamas and the systematic destruction of Gaza, Israel launched an unprovoked attack on Iran, claiming that the Iranianians were on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. The Israeli attack came amid renewed negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic on the nuclear issue.
The Israeli attack led to the killings of Iranian military leaders and prominent nuclear scientists, and Netanyahu made it clear that his ambition is to decimate the Iranian leadership and effect a regime change. What audacity.
The Iranian response, as it turned out, and despite the murder of their military leaders and the unexpected attack on their military and civilian infrastructure, was a bold and robust, unleashing mayhem and destruction in Israeli cities, despite the iron dome defence systems and Netanyahu’s boast that the Israeli Airforce was in total control of Iranian air space.
For the first time since 1967, Israeli cities came under ferocious attack with the population fleeing into bomb shelters. Although a ceasefire has been proclaimed by Donald Trump who is not a neutral player in the game, after twelve days of fighting, it is obvious that this is the calm before the next storm. And that storm could become apocalyptical.
There is no question that Iran, will strive to produce nuclear weapons within the next ten years. The strategic advantage Israel has which is the possession of nuclear weapons will be a thing of the past. With or without the Ayatollah, the Iranians are dead set on that path.
The blame, in my view, is Israel, and decades of hostility and economic sanctions by the United States and Europe. And if a push comes to a shove nobody should be left in doubt that Iran will not hesitate to use nuclear weapons. At this stage, there is nothing the United States can do about it.
Since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran has transformed from a Western puppet state to a State that has chosen to chart its own path. Its way or martyrdom. To them, ‘Death to America’ is not an empty slogan and the present generation of Iranians has grown to embrace the sanctity of standing on their feet against all odds, and any or all powers.
In ten years, China would have become the global leading economy and its military strength will be such that not even the United States can contain its imminent rise. India is also inexorably set on the path of growth.
I wish I can say the same for my country, even as I wish that Nigeria becomes a major player in this game. The reality is that a multi-polar world is inevitable. A new International system that recognizes the humanity of all peoples and nations is the only desirable path for humanity at this stage.
The Strength of Nations won’t be measured in the emerging global scenario by military strength, belligerency or the conqueror mentality. A nation that is at peace with itself and its neighbours would find a comfortable seat in the new emerging scenario.
The old Powers- Europe, US, Russia and their puppet states – especially in the Middle East must listen to their peoples or go down with their imperial masters.
The 12 day war, which Israel provoked ostensibly to depose the Islamic Revolution and to return the Shah to power, has turned out to be an eye opener for the Zionist leaders and ordinary Israelis that not even the Iron Dome, their nuclear weapons, the Mossad, its famed military invisibility and the unrestrained support from the United States and Europe can guarantee them total security.
What can guarantee them peace is known to the Israelis as well as the Arabs, including the Iranians. There is no alternative to a TWO STATE solution. There should be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Israeli troops should be withdrawn from Palestinian territories and the immediate redevelopment of Gaza should start in earnest.
The US, Europe, and the rich Arab States should bring the money to rebuild the destroyed Palestinian territory. Israel should withdraw to pre-1967 borders and a two state solution should follow within two years.
Iran and other Middle East countries should recognise Israel’s right to exist and Israel should begin the process of demilitarizing, giving up its nuclear arsenal as Ukraine and Apartheid South Africa did, and make genuine peace with its neighbours.
The alternative to peace in the Middle East is total destruction. There will be no winners. The strength of a nation is the capacity to make peace with its neighbors and her people.
