AAU lecturer found dead in hotel after romp with 21-year-old girl
My gistlovers, one hotel room for Ekpoma don become the centre of a serious police investigation after a senior lecturer from Ambrose Alli University was found lifeless inside the room shortly after he reportedly checked in with a 21-year-old woman.
The lecturer, identified as Dr. Matthew Uwuigbe, was a member of the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science at AAU. According to the Edo State Police Command, the incident happened on Monday, October 5, at a hotel around the Mosco area of Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, said Uwuigbe had lodged at the hotel and engaged the services of a 21-year-old woman identified as Angela Defa Jacob. According to the police account, Uwuigbe later asked the woman to step out and buy water for him.
Na when the woman return to the room, according to police, she meet the lecturer lying lifeless. She reportedly raised alarm, and the matter was then reported to the police at about 8pm.
For now, police never establish exactly wetin happen inside that room before Uwuigbe died. The 21-year-old girl alongside the hotel owner and manager, have been arrested and detained for questioning as investigators try to piece together the events leading to the lecturer’s death.
His remains have also been deposited at Oriaifo Memorial Hospital Mortuary pending the outcome of the investigation.
AAU don confirm say Uwuigbe was a member of its academic staff, but the university make am clear say the incident happen outside the school premises. The institution also clarify say the 21-year-old girl involved no be an AAU student.
But while investigators dey try find answers, some people online don already form their own theories — and some of the comments no get sympathy at all. One person wrote, “Wishing this on all men of your kind,” while another said, “She don ride am to glory, no be small work. To get A no be small work.”
Somebody else joked, “He died doing what he loves,” while another took the matter to another university entirely, saying, “Very good! Same fate will hit Uniport Theatre Arts lecturers soon.”
The comments fit generate gbas gbos online, but none of them can explain wetin really happen inside that room. Until investigators establish the circumstances surrounding Uwuigbe’s death, any claim about how or why he died remains speculation.
Yinka Quadri makes surprising revelation about his marriage
My people, marriage matter get different levels, but this one wey veteran actor Yinka Quadri don reveal go make some people pause their scrolling and ask, “Wait first, na wetin I just read be this?”
The Yoruba movie star don open up about how his wife knew about some of the actresses he was dating, and according to him, some of these women fit sleep over for his house after late-night movie shoots, while his wife still go make sure say dem chop!
Quadri make this revelation when him speak on the African A-List podcast, where him gist about some of the relationships he had with female colleagues in the entertainment industry. According to the veteran actor, some of the actresses even became friends with his wife. Despite the relationships he said he had with them.
But the matter get another angle wey make am more interesting. Quadri explain say some of the actresses would meet his wife to gossip about other women wey dem believe say him dey date. The funny part, according to him, be say some of these women were also romantically involved with am.
Na so the gossip wey dem carry go meet his wife go sometimes end up exposing their own involvement too!
And when jealousy enter the picture, things no always go smoothly among the women.
Quadri said some of the actresses he was dating would eventually leave his house out of jealousy, only for his wife to let them know say she already knew about the relationships. According to him, his wife no dey fight them over the matter.
Then the overnight gist enter. Quadri reveal say whenever movie production finish late, some of the actresses would sleep over at his house. And according to the actor, his wife knew about their relationships with him but would still feed them and make sure they were comfortable.
My people, na this part come raise eyebrows online, because many people no fit imagine how such an arrangement take work inside marriage.
As expected, social media people don begin drop their own interpretations. One person observed, “Omo that generation is the last to tolerate too many nonsense in marriage.” Another came with a different theory, saying, “Another angle is that the wife fit dey enjoy her life with one young Abuja sweet boy.”
Meanwhile, somebody described the situation as “This is men’s idea of peace,” while another simply exclaimed, “Our wife! Our wife!! Our wife!!!”
Quadri and his wife married in 1989, and this latest revelation don put their marriage and the meaning of tolerance under social media spotlight.
But while people dey debate whether the wife’s reported reaction na patience, personal choice or something else entirely, my people, na only the couple know the full story of wetin really work for their marriage.
JAMB is taking UTME to Canada from 2027
My Aprokonation, who say JAMB stress na only Nigerians wey dey this side of the Atlantic dey enjoy? The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board don carry UTME matter reach Canada, and if the plan go ahead as announced, Nigerians wey dey there fit no need to fly come Nigeria just to write JAMB from 2027.
JAMB don announce plan to establish a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination centre for Ottawa, Canada. The board made the announcement after its Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, visited the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa.
So wetin this one mean for our people abroad? If you dey Canada or another part of North America and you qualify to write UTME because you want admission into a Nigerian university or another tertiary institution, the proposed Ottawa centre fit give you the option to sit for the examination there instead of travelling all the way to Nigeria just for JAMB.
According to JAMB, the plan na part of efforts to make Nigerian tertiary education more accessible to citizens living abroad and also keep Nigerians in the diaspora connected to the country’s education system. The board said the Ottawa centre is expected to start operations in 2027.
JAMB even put am in one line wey sound like dem dey advertise holiday package: “For Nigerians in Canada, the UTME is coming closer to home.” The board also said the move would reduce the stress and cost of travelling back to Nigeria just to sit for the examination, while giving Nigerians in North America who want to study in Nigerian tertiary institutions easier access to the UTME.
But this announcement still raise one funny question among Nigerians online: if person don dey enjoy life for Canada, wetin go make am decide say Nigeria university na the next destination? One person asked, “As in make I leave Canada come school for Nigeria?”
Another joked, “This is like training in the US marines just to go become a Nigerian police officer,” while somebody simply declared, “Super story.” Another person added, “make Nigerians use this one do shakara small, we don blow.”
At least, one thing don clear: from 2027, if you dey Canada and you wan write JAMB for admission into a Nigerian tertiary institution, you no necessarily need to pack your bags and fly back home just to face CBT screen. JAMB itself dey gradually bring the examination closer to you.
So, my people, this one fit save some Nigerians abroad the cost of an international flight just to face JAMB. But make we no forget say na admission into Nigerian schools dem dey prepare for, and with the proposed centre still expected to begin operations in 2027, interested candidates go need to watch out for the official details.
