Deltans are better understanding the reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, following extensive stakeholders’ engagement across the 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA).
Briefing Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on the activities of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Asaba on Wednesday, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, Delta State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said intense engagement, mobilisation and sensitisation has been carried out across the 25 local government areas of the state.
He said the coordinators of three senatorial zones were involved in the exercise during which political leaders played crucial roles. He explained that when the RHA team visited Ndokwa West, the home council of Sir Monday Oyem, deputy governor of the state, he was on hand to receive the team with all the leaders.
Solomon who is also the Senior Policy Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, said at each stop, the dynamics of the reforms introduced by President Tinubu, what necessitated their introduction and the impact they have had in pulling the country away from the precipice were explained.
“Deltans now better appreciate the fact that President Tinubu inherited an economy that was more like a patient in intensive care unit of a hospital. They now know the situation needed bold decisions which the President made. They now understand that the country and the economy are on the path to recovery and growth”, Solomon explained.
More people have come to know of the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the succour it has provided parents in paying their children’s school fees, he said, noting that they consider it an impactful palliative.
As the campaigns intensify, the RHA coordinator said the ambassadors will continue engaging stakeholders, including community leaders, organised labour, professional groups, artisans, women and youth groups as well as the clergy.
The meeting had in attendance the three Senatorial District Coordinators – Chief Patrick Ukah (Delta North), Chief Lucky Akarogbe (Delta South) and Chief Steve Sokoh (Delta Central), as well as all the 25 LGA Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
According to him, the RHA office remains very close to the Governor’s heart and is enjoying full support from the state government.
“Our engagements with stakeholders in the 25 LGAs have been massive. We have met with organized groups including *NULGE, NUT, NBA, NMA*, student bodies in higher institutions, support groups, and other critical stakeholders,” Funkekeme stated.
He said the message of the RHA has been clear – that Mr. President is doing well for all Nigerians.
“The purpose of engaging the people is to inform, communicate and educate them on the reforms of President Tinuhuand Governor Oborevwori to the grassroots,” he added.
Funkekeme noted that the group has gone ahead to equip coordinators with the knowledge required to engage and convince people at the grassroots in order to assist and strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win landslide in 2027.
Sen. Okowa, the Senatorial flagbearer for Delta North District, commended Solomon and all the coordinators for their efforts. He urged them to intensify their engagement and pledged to ensure that the tools needed for their assignment are provided.
